After Botox® Cosmetic
- You may experience a headache for up to 12 hours following injections.
- Swelling at the injection sites may occur. Ice packs may be used for the first 24 hours after surgery to reduce swelling. Swelling is usually greater 2 days after surgery and can last about a week.
- It may take up to 7 days to feel the effects of the Botox. The effects usually last 3 months.
- Following Botox therapy, you should return to your normal diet as tolerated.
- There is a doctor on call 24 hours a day. If a situation develops after our office hours that is a medical emergency, you may call our office and to page the doctor on call.
- Please report any of the following to our office:
- Difficulty swallowing
- Difficulty speaking
- Weakness in the muscles that control facial expressions
- Drooping of the eyelid
