Meet Dr. Cohen
Dr. Cohen received his undergraduate degree from Brandeis University in 1997. He received his degree in dental surgery from the New York University College of Dentistry in 2002, and subsequently completed a research fellowship at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and an internship at Charity Hospital, both in New Orleans. In 2007, Dr. Cohen completed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. That same year, he also completed a surgical implant program at the Carl Misch International Implant Institute. Dr. Cohen practices full scope oral and maxillofacial surgery, with special focus on the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea, craniofacial deformities, pathology, and dental implantology.
Dr. Cohen is on staff at Lenox Hill Hospital, The Mount Sinai Medical Center, Beth Israel Medical Center, Metropolitan Hospital Center, and St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center, in New York. He also holds a faculty appointment at the New York Medical College. He is fluent in English, French, and Spanish, and is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Cohen is also a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology.
Born in France, Dr. Cohen grew up in Paris and Los Angeles. He travels often to Africa and other parts of the world to provide free surgical treatment to children born with facial deformities. He was involved in the 9/11 rescue efforts at Ground Zero in 2001 and worked in the Israeli Defense Force Field Medical Hospital in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake. He lives in Manhattan’s Upper East Side with his family.
Dr. Cohen is the founder of Park Avenue Oral & Facial Surgery, P.C., Manhattan’s premier oral and maxillofacial surgery practice that made its grand opening in 2010. The office is newly renovated with state of the art equipment and facilities.
